Rogue Shakespeare Oatmeal Stout

Rogue Ales
Newport, OR

Grade: A-
Style: Oatmeat Stout
Serve in: Pint glass, mug

Lets start off by being incredibly dirty. A gorgeous thick and creamy brown head. Ok. Smells like cocoa and roasted malts, with an interesting hop thing going on too. The initial taste is sort of peppery. There’s a lot of burnt malts and a grassy hop flavor. A slight suggestion of oats, but nothing too crazy. Very dry finish. I was expecting this to be a tad sweeter. It looks really great, but I think it’s a little bit too bitter for my liking and for the type of beer.
