Southern Tier Creme Brulee Imperial Milk Stout

Southern Tier
Lakewood, NY

Grade: A-
10% ABV
Style: Imperial Stout
Serve in: Snifter, pint glass

Why did they have to bottle this as a 22-ouncer??? Creme Brulee Stout, you smell of warmed butter, custard and butterscotch. And the taste is the same as the aroma, like an 8-year olds sweet tooth. Pours black, roasted and malty, with chocolate and coffee notes. Thick and creamy, some bitterness in a lingering finish. I want to drink you on a cold winter night, like an adult hot chocolate. But I couldn’t. I poured half of you away. Because you are a dessert beer, through and through, and 22-ounces of creme brulee is a bit much. But I’ll always care about you, sweety.
